Parlay Entertainment Announces Alliance with Sun Microsystems
iForce program promotes the power of partnering with Sun
OAKVILLE , CANADA — August 2, 2005 — Parlay Entertainment Inc. (TSXV: PEI; Pink Sheets: PRYNF), the world's leading developer and licensor of Internet bingo solutions, is pleased to announce it has become a Sun Microsystems iForce partner. As an iForce partner, Parlay developers will have access to the latest Sun Microsystems development and testing tools, training resources and proof-of concept services, resulting in improved online gaming software.
Under the agreement, Parlay will leverage Sun's co-marketing and sales services among a host of other benefits. Parlay has also joined the iForce "Ten Moves Ahead" partner initiative, designed to make it easier and more profitable for Sun's qualified partners to deliver solutions on the Solaris™ 10 Operating System.
According to Ted Colivas, Parlay's Director of Business Development, the new partnership is the formalization of a long-term relationship between the two companies. "Parlay has been working closely with Sun since 1996 when we were an early adaptor of its Java technology. We began using Java as a development environment nearly a decade ago and haven't looked back since."
"Sun is committed to offering partners the right tools and network of experts to assist in the development of world-class business solutions," said Brad Keates, Vice President of Alliances, Channels and Partner Sales for Sun Microsystems of Canada Inc. "iForce Centres offer companies like Parlay the benefit of implementing industry best practices to achieve higher quality solutions before going to market. This partnership will help assure Parlay's customers that they have invested in a tried and tested solution."
Perry Malone, Parlay Entertainment's Chief Technology Officer, says that his company's long-term support of Sun's Java technology has enabled Parlay to compete in the global online community. "The fact that Java applications can be written once and deployed anywhere has certainly proven beneficial as we enter the markets of Europe and Central America. Our global customers want to be able to run our software on their existing Solaris, Linux, and Windows platforms and, thanks to Java's inherent flexibility, we've been able to deliver seamless solutions."
"Our new partnership with Sun enables our companies to work more closely together than ever, allowing us to develop and market the best online gaming solutions in the industry," says Colivas.
